Would anyone know of a more active forum in order to get questions answered?

Tripadvisor seems to be a little more active but mostly for vacation questions not resident one.

Thank you for your reply. I know there has to have been someone that has been able to bring their dog from the US to Honduras. Are there any more sites (than Trip Advisor) that could help.?

I don't know where you are located, but my first stop would be the nearest Honduran Consulate. You should either go to there or call them and find out what the law is. They'll be more than happy to help you. Good luck with it.

The nearest consulate is in Miami.. I am 300 miles away. My experience is that the phone rings incessantly, or put on hold forever. I have even e mailed without response. The info thus far has been from the USDA vet. My problem is notifying the authorities of my arrival so that their people will be on hand.

Dear Sherride, Thank you for your reply. My intent is to fly from Florida to Tegucigalpa. I personally have done this trip, but not with my service dog. I have flown with him to Mexico, so I am aware of the vet certificate and the USDA endorsement. My issue is with the inspection process. I would like to inform them of my arrival so that the vet, who inspects him on arrival, is on hand. For that reason our arrival is usually on a Mon- thurs, daylight, working hours, and on a non holiday schedule. The embassies always seem to notate that prior notification is required, but when you research there is no contact info...ie fax, phone etc. Jeff flies at my feet due to his service dog status. I usually travel only with carry on and a backpack for his stuff. I posted to find out how out how other dog owners have completed their trip and any possible factors affecting ease in the process.

Have you tried the main embassy in Washington, DC 202 966 7702 or the consulate in Atlanta, Ga. 770 645 8881? Maybe you will have better luck with them. Pettravel.com has a lot of good info and sells forms. Might be a good site to visit.

Did you try facebook or yahoo groups? I know the Honduras_living group on yahoo is pretty active.
