Hello all Honduras lovers!

My long time boyfriend and I are seriously thinking about moving to Roatan. We have nothing holding us here in New Mexico.

I am in the property management field and he is a contractor (journeyman, plumbing and electrical) and could easily do maintenance., both of us have over 15 years experience in our related fields. In the research I have done, it appears that there are opportunities for resort/hotel management couples. Anyone have any idea what the best way to get our information out there is?

I would appreciate any guidance.

Not sure about Roatan, but there are plenty of places on the mainland (I saw places anywhere from Olancho to La Ceiba and then down in Amapala) where you can work at the hotel (in any department - kitchen, housekeeping, maintenance, etc.) in exchange for free room & board. Might be a good way to start and learn about the culture and the opportunities.
