" Has anyone just upped and moved to HK on his or her own? I am planning to do this in September, if I get a teaching job, and would like any advice etc. anyone has. Is it hard to meet people etc.? Is there anywhere else to hang out other than Lan Kwai Fong? Also - any advice on any new places to look for teaching jobs?! Thank you! Else :) "

" Else I suggest you chexk out the Hong Kong webgrrls site at http://www.hkwebgirls.com They are a branch of the international webgrrls organization and have regular mixers and events where you can meet people. Depending on where you teach, you may find an active women''s group. There is a wide variety of interest groups, so you really should not have become a Lan Kwai Fong bar fly (unless you want to). I suggest you contact the Community Advice Bureau on 852 2815 5444 for more information. By the way, if I have gaffed, and you are not a female, my apologies, but the information should still be valid. Gillian "
