Sha Tin, Sai Kung, Tseung Kwan O for Kwun Tong job

Hi,

Considering locating in the above areas for a job in Kwun Tong. Thoughts? Looking for more space, fresher air and a sense of openness that is still convenient to the city.

Also, any thoughts on village houses versus flats? I have heard that the village houses can be great, but that it is a risk because of sound travel. I'm quiet and value the same.

Thx!
J

I live in Tai Wai, Shatin, and it is definitely not the quietest place in the world, especially with the new railway construction going on. I have friends who live in Sai Kung and highly recommend it for the tranquility.

Hi John,
We live in Sai Kung Country Park - a bit of a 'hike' into town (one hour by car ...add another 1/2 hr by pub.transit) but I wouldn't live anywhere else now! The air is fresh, hiking trails right outside our door, and it's very quiet (except for the sound of owls and other birds, monkeys, and wild boar in the middle of the night, etc). Closer to Sai Kung and Clearwater Bay area are also very nice (and shorter distance to town) - and still have the advantage of better air and relatively peaceful.

We have a village house and we love it. But - we are set apart from others in the village and our village only has one 'village dog'. Some villages are quite noisy because of the dogs. If you are on one floor of a village house - it really depends upon your neighbours as to how quiet it is - and I think that's much the same for an apartment. We lived on a univ. campus for the 1st 4.5 yrs we were here and even in their new apartment buildings, we still had to contend with music practise, tricycles overhead, etc.

If it's not too late and you'd like to ask more questions - email me at judyATaccomasiaDOTcom.
