My husband and I along with our two daughters aged 3 yrs and 8 mths will be moving to Hong Kong in a few weeks.
Fortunately, many details will be taken care of by my husband's company but we would like any feedback from parents on finding a part-time babysitter we can trust so we may have a few nights out. I have not decided whether I would like to have a full-time nanny as I will be staying at-home with our daughters.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you, Sophia

Even if you do not hire a full-time Domestic Helper, you will most likely want one part-time. It does not make sense to not have one since the cost is reasonable and if they've been in HKG for any length of time they can be a valuable resource for information. Just insure that whomever you hire is available for baby-sitting duties, also. i.e. she does not have a curfew wherever she is living.
Good luck

I think it is also illegal to have a part-time helper. You could get your visa revoked. There has been a crackdown on part-time staff. You are better off hiring a full-time one.

Just to clarify - it is not illegal to employ part time babysitters or domestic help, but it is illegal to employ any foreign domestic worker in any capacity other than that to which she is already contracted.
To find out about reputable babysitting services, I suggest contacting the Community advice bureau on 2815 5444. They can also advise you on many other aspects of life here (I have been in HK for nearly 18 years and I still call them!).
