Looking for IT Jobs in HK

Hello I am 25 years old and I'm looking to move to HK around August. I have a Bsc(Hons) Computer Studies degree and have been working in the IT industry for over 4 years, most recently at the London Stock Exchange.

I have a few questions:

What do I need to do to live and work in HK? Can I just arrive at the airport, find somewhere to live and start job hunting, or do I need a job first and a VISA?

I have heard that the IT industry is quite strong in HK and I shouldn't have much trouble finding a job, is this stil true?

I currently earn about £32k in the UK, will I be able to find a job with a matching salary in HK?

Thank you in advance

I am trying the same from the US.
FYI if you are not HK or chinese citizen you will need a work visa. Also from my impression IT pay is not competitive to the US ( so not comp. to UK is no stretch) so will be in a bit of shock but FYI taxes are much less there. like12% income tax but the rents are pretty high. The best would be to work in a UK company and get transferred there. UK/US rate while working in HK is great. My only advantage is i speak cantonese. post back to see how u do.
also scmp.com's classifieds and monster/hotjobs have some leads ( not great though)...if cant find a job that will transfer you to HK.
