American school (ais) vs. International school (hkis)

our family with a 6th grader, 3rd grader and 1st grader may be moving to hong kong soon; do you have any comments about the differences between ais and hkis?
also, what would be some of the good locations to live for either of these schools?

Hi,
I'm an American from northern California and am thinking about relocating to Hong Kong next year. I have a 13-year-old in the 8th grade.
I would like to know how the international schools are ranked and also, what are the chances of getting admitted into an ESF school if we don't live in Hong Kong but have relatives living there (Is it o.k. to use my relatives' address?)
I appreciate any input you may have.
