Hi there,
I'm planning to go to Hong Kong and thinking about staying at the Helena May for a few nights. Is that area Garden Rd. safe for a lone female traveller to walk from the MTR station (Central or Admiralty) to the Helena May at night? Are there any dangers I should aware of?
Thanks

Hong Kong is one of the safest places I have ever known - I feel perfectly safe any time of the day or night, pretty much everywhere.
Of course, there are no absolutes in life but you would be hard-pressed to find anywhere safer.
Also, I believe there is a mini-bus that goes up there from Central but I don't know the number. The Helena May or the Hong Kong Tourist Board will be able to help you there.

Helena May is right next to Peak Tram Station, Hong Kong Park, HK Zoo and St John Cathedral (all tourism spots) so I think it is very safe to walk from MTR station (both Admiralty and Central) to HM at night. If you are worried about walking alone at night, you can take bus No. 23 or 40 from Admiralty or take taxi (HKD 15 to 20)
