I am an American songwriter/performer (you get the picture) and am moving to Budapest in the early winter. What areas are pretty good and possibly contain other expats and what sort of rent should I expect to pay for a studio or one bedroom apt? Thank you very much in advance. Terry

" Hi Terry, As an expat who''s been here six years on and off, I''d suggest the 5th, inner 6th or inner 13th district of Budapest. The 5th is the most expensive, being the official downtown of Pest on the eastern side of the Danube. Buda is prettier, cleaner and nicer but not so close to the action as it were. You should be able to pick something up for $200-$300/month if you use a small, Hnugarian agent. I know of one who finds apartments for English teachers here and I know he''s found bargains in the past. Feel free to contact me at stuart@ittc.hu if you wish. I''ll try to get the contact details for the agent I mentioned. Stuart McAlister "
