Can you folks that want to argue, disagree strongly etc. KINDLY do so via personal messages available here? Please. This is supposed to be helpful to ALL the Ex Pats interested in, Living in, concerned with Hungarian living. Stress is on the HELPFUL part, not argumentative, contradictory etc. Simple facts work well enough I think. ALL countries have their quirks, oddities and all that. That said, Hungary is Hungary. IT is NOT the Untied States, the U.K. nor Australia or any other country. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. That is the best thing to remember. Listen, watch and learn, then act as you think and feel will accomplish your goals best and quietest.

Listen, the problem w/ the "commenting on everything" poster Paddington is, that he does not provide much (and useful) info and advice when questions are posted, but but uses the occasion to denigrate Hungary and Hungarians under the guise of "information".

This behavior is fundamentally dishonest as a man of an (unstated) agenda, and bespeaks of a warped, or lacking of, ethics and integrity.

I predicted he'll be outed and will show this true color and self, for all to see.
Well, it has happened.

He posted today (8/7/14):
"I hate to live in Hungary!"

A person this biased, cannot (or rather, will not) give much useful advice to anyone interested to live in HU, and much of it is, or will be tainted.

His entire "raison d'etre" is to lurk in this forum, bad-mouth and discourage people about HU in any way he can, b/c he hates it here. That's his bottom line - the hate of his circumstances he created for himself.
His girlfriend is not allowed in the US (for whatever undisclosed reason), so instead blaming the US's intransigence in this matter, he blames HU for being miserable here b/c he is simply unable to cope with the challenges of living abroad, immersed in a different language and culture.

He's a primitive, undereducated (and dishonest) soul (an ex-policeman - need I say more?), who should have never left the US, as he's unable to adapt. It's a fundamental condition of his; he'll not be happy anywhere outside of the US.
