I do not understand this? Do you mean the shopping baskets? They already cost well you rent since you get your coin back.

No Felicia, I think he means that companies like Tesco no longer allowed to run free mini shuttle buses to get customers. This was a good deal for the elderly that don't drive or have other means to go shopping. It is a savvy business decision but of course it costs the company money. Overall the sad fact is that the Hungarian government intrudes in people's lives and tries to tell them what to do and when. Just like theSunday Law I call when they tried to keep all major business closed on Sunday. That of course didn't work. The there was the talk about the "Internet tax" which drove Hungarians to the streets by the thousands. That idea the government dropped and now even reduced the tax (AFA) on it. Unfortunately Hungarian government do a lot of this I call "false starts" maybe to see what flies and what doesn't. LOL!

Indeed! But taking care of your own is nothing new in politics and it is practiced in every part of the world. The true miracle is this guy Meszaros who was a plumber by trade but somehow he has increased his wealth 1000 fold in 10 short years. Maybe Venezuela's Manduro should hire him as a consultant, LOL!

You are very fortunate that Hungary is now a democracy. Such an idiotic tirade would have netted you 2 days in Andrassy back in the good old days. Not to mention that you are being utterly absurd.
Orban is not taking care of his friends, he is taking care of the citizens he signed on to protect. Where have I heard that recently - oh, that's right President Trump! Putting your own people first seems to have become an unfamiliar virtue over the past 3 decades.
Unfortunately, libtards happen in Hungary too - but here too, you will be ignored.
Foreign entities received tax breaks for a significant time. In return we received the trash they could not sell in their home country? Thanks.
There are fresh produce right here in Hungary that is better quality, not sprayed to death, not genetically modified - and was not picked greet and gassed into ripening on the road.
So - you can take yourself where the weather suits your pores better - you will not be missed.
Orban is staying right where he is at - the silent majority voted here as it did in the US. Sanity just may return.

I like him and he does generally what is good for the Hungarian people...If not for him, hordes of dirty Muslims would be impregnating Hungarian young women by now thru rape! Actually Mr Orban is a huge advocate and admirer of "Illiberal Democracy". He is also a great admirer of Mr Putin. So believe what you will (and in a way no different than Trump or Putin) the inner circle of the Minister surely get richer every way. They get to buy cheap government properties with government loans, TV and radio stations, etc. Mr Meszaros is a great example. A plummer by trade and a god friend of Mr Orbans' has multiplied his wealth by 1000 percent in 10 short years. Not even Soros, Buffet or Walton done so well so fast (relatively speaking). So enjoy the pesticide free veggies and fruits (far as you know) but Hungary still has a long way to go!!!

Indeed! I recall writing a post and the Editor wrote that this was NOT a political forum and refused to post it. Frankly it was not "political" I simply criticized the convoluted bureaucracy that retards growth in Hungary etc. Maybe the site became less "policed" or more tolerant! LOL!
