What is the feasibility of early retiring to India ( I am a British citizen (62) and located in the UK)I have an income of about $1200 per month tax paid .....no ties ...am single...male. As I have no ties at all and no family connections it would be assumed that I would rent property as to buy would be pointless.Unless of course someone has similar ideas and would like to share all expenses etc? Advice appreciated

" Hi, I''m an American Citizen, female in my 60''s. I have been travelling to India since 1984, and have lived there on several occasions. I plan on going back later this month (May ''01). I have found a great place in Jaipur, very reasonable. I have made alot of friends there and would be happy to introduce you to them. Of course if you''ve already been to India and made friends yourself you might not be interested in that, but if you just want to meet up that would be good too. Sincerely, Bonnie "

" HI. I saw your question posted. I am Indian living in the Us for the last 6 years but can give you some idea about living in India. You have probably visited India a few time already. With a incoe of $1200 per month, that would translate to approx. Rs.50,000 per month and for a single person, thats enough money. Of course, depends on your lifestyle and where in India you choose to live. For eg: in Bombay, that would not be enuf money to rent a place and live comfortably but in a place like Jaipur, that would be quite enuf. I would not recommend that you live in the metro cities like Bombay or New Delhi but go to smaller places. "
