feel free to email me. I'm from the US with 2 kids (6 and 3) and have been here for 3 months of a 2+ year engagement. I've lived abroad in other countries as well.

I'm glad I found this sight.... My husband, two small children and myself are an American family moving to Bangalore very soon. I need all the guidence I can get. We are going to be in Bangalore starting June 14, 2004 for a "look see" visit. I don't know anything about the city. I need basic info. like best residental areas with good hospitals, schools and ect.. nearby. Also, if anyone is part of OWC, could you please let me know if there is a meeting on Monday, June 14? I've emailed OWC twice, but still no responce.

Thanks,

Nancy

HI,

You can get a lot of info by surfing on the internet.I was there last week but I had done my homework before I went there.Depending where your husband will be working you can pick the school.I visited the Canadian school and also the International school of Bangalore. Both were equally good.My husband would be working in the south side so we chose the International school for him and a local preschool for our daughter who is 4.We like being in the city as I would like to have access to everything within 10 mins from home.We chose Ulsoor and Indiranagar. The apts are very nice with security guards .Do your homework before u go .If u need any help feel free to email me directly.

Good Luck!

We went through this process last year - moved here from Richmond, VA. We started off with a serviced apartment, and then transitioned to a rental property. Our 3 yr old went through play school last year - and is stepping into Kindegarten next week. Happy to share our experiences.
