I've moved to Bangalore from the UK as an expat working for a major British company. Funny thing is I'm Indian born and brought up in the UK; only visited India twice before.
Would love to get to know people to expand my social circle; any one from any where in the world working/living in bangalore welcome.

I'd be happy to meet up with you (and others).

I'm a Brit by nationality, although my mother's family is from Bangalore. I'm halfway through a 2-year assignment for a Californian software company - prior to this I worked for them in the UK, Switzerland and the US.

You can email me at keanroy@hotmail.com.

Hi Blue,

I'm presently in the UK and want to re-locate to Bangalore with my Family. I'm only starting out on this long road and have pitched it to my employer and they are considering employing me in India.

Having read your comments, I was just wondering how much you know about settling down in Bangalore, how are you coping with the climate (especially monsoon). Any tips for avoiding pitfalls in the re-location/settling down process.

Have you got a spouse or children with you? What was better than you expected in Bangalore and what was worse than you expected?

I'd really be interested in your reply.

Regards

Kirti

Hi Kirti
I sound like I'm in a similar position to you. My husband is probably going to accept a promotion in Bangalore. We are wanting to visit the first week in May and if all goes well to be in place by mid July.
My main concern is schools for my 2 children aged 6 and 11 (due to start high school in September).

Has anyone any experience of the schools and the applications procedures? Information gratefully received

Thanks
Sonia

Hi Kirti
I am in a similar position to you-am a Brit Indian thinking of moving to Bangalore with 2 kids (8 and 10), with my husband relocatting through work.
Thinking of schools is a mine field and I don't particularly want to pay exorbitant international school fees.
How have things developed for you? have you moved yet ? Did you arrange to go and see the schools / meet the heads as i understand admission to school is a case of waiting to be seen and also paying "building development funds"
