My husband may be transferred to Bangalore this year from the US. I need to find information about International Schools. What I have read on the internet has not convinced me as to what school I should look at.
Is it true the school are packed and have huge waiting lists? Which school has more International students Indus, TISB or Canadian International?
The ages of my children are 11, 9 and 8. (5th, 4th and 2nd grade)
Please give me some advise, so that I can make the right decision for my family.

Hi We have just been going through the same process of looking for schools for our 11 and 6 yo. You have named the best schools IMHO, however consider where you will live and then go for schools or vice versa. Canadian school is lovely and they are in the process of building a new school - however it is in the North of the city wheras TISB and Indus are in the south east (quite close to each other). The schools can get full but we would have been able to get into any of these. You may also want to consider the syllabuses that they teach - IB or IGCSE. We eventually chose Indus as we felt that it wasn't as "academic" and more suited to our children. If possible go and look round and you will get a better idea. If you need more info then do contact me. S

Thanks Sonial,
Which school has the IB program? We are coming from the US, therefore the IGCSE is not our syllabus. I personally was discouraded with what I read about TISB, and were looking at Indus. We still dont know when we are coming for our look-see. What can you advise.
Thanks for all your help. R

Hi Reta Indus and TISB (I think) teach IB. Have you seen Indus website? It's www.indusschool.com. It says Indus are the only school to teach IB in the early years: The Indus International School is also the only 'Candidate School' in Bangalore for the Primary Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate Organization. We found that some schools call themselves International but don't seem to offer internationally recognised syllabuses, also the International School Bangalore wasn't fully built yet. The Mallya Aditi International School was very very expensive, probably twice that of the other schools and didn't IMHO seem to offer more. We are moving out to Bangalore on 4th August. If you come for a look-see then try to meet up with the Bangalore Overseas Womens Club where you can talk to lots of Mums who send their kids to school all over Bangalore. They meet up at the Library Bar in Leela Palace Hotel every Thursday morning (10-12). (I've posted details of their website on this forum and also the details of a guide to Bangalore). If you know when you're coming we could try to meet up if you think I can help. If you want to e:mail me, then contact me on sonia@lancaster700.fsnet.co.uk Good luck Sonia
