Preschools and discipline, what is standard practice?

Howdy gang,

I need to find a top notch preschool for my little gal in Gurgoa, Noika or old Delhi.

I am concerned because I am ignorant; will my daughter get beaten, demeaned, slapped or caned in school by her teachers?

We all know that in American school, the teacher would be sacked for this sort of behavior! What about teachers in India?? What about the teachers in the private schools? I need to hear from you all about your kids' experiences!

I also need some suggestions for schools in these areas...Thanks so much, your advice can help put my worried mind at ease! LOL

Thanks so much!
Tracy

I need to clarify why I have posted my concerns;

I have a Tibetan friend who works in Bangalore. He was born and raised there. He attended an Indian school and was beaten with a cane once, as well as spanked many times.

I have no clue about Indian ideas regarding kids or discipline ideas in general at schools. I have read that India is a child friendly place. I love my daughter very deeply and I want her to have as positive an experience at school as possible, no matter where in the world she is enrolled!

Your advice is appreciated.

Tracy :D
