Hi
I am a Chartered accountant returning to work in Bangalore at quite a senior level-are there any other working women uot there? How does full time work compare to working in then UK. I have 2 children 8 and 10...will I be able to give them all the love and attention they get out here? Are working days long...look forward to any feedback on what it's like???
Thanks

Hello there,

I don't know if you have already done the shift to Bangalore since your post, but still, perhaps this might be of help.

Yes, women are very much a part of the workforce in the city. If you are going to work in a private sector company, then depending on the work ethics, look forward to long hours at the desk. There are quite a few companies, notably MNCs and companies with MNC outlook, where the five-day work-week ethos is strictly enforced.

For mothers with creche needs, quite a few home-based creches have sprung up in the city. When you scout for a residence here (if you have not already done so), you may want to keep this facility as one of the deciding parameters.

Hth,
Sanjay.
