Im currently considering a job in Delhi and would like some information regarding things I should consider in negotiating my package. I have a wigfe and 4 yr old daughter. Particular things Im looking at are:

What is a reasonable rent allowance and what things do I need to consider. There seems to be a big variance in prices.

What is the age for starting school. Normally start at 5 in Australia.

What is Delhi like to live in?

Can anyone advise of good school and where I may be able to get some information.

What are other elements of expat salary packages to be mindful of?

Hope the questions arent too silly but Im somewhat new to this.

Cheers

Hi,

School starts at age 3 in India, at least that is what I have read. Rents vary from as low as $30 a month all the way up to $1200+. Depends on where you choose to live.

Also there is a good montessori school in Delhi that I thought was impressive. http://www.mmiindia.com/ this is their website. They have a school in Delhi.

Good luck.
