My husband and I are relocating to Pune with our 9 month old daughter in a couple of weeks. We will be staying at Blossom Blvd.

Does anyone know of any Baby Programs (library, storytelling, music etc) in the area that we could take our daugher to during the day?

Thanks

India doesn't have a system of public libraries, and I think there's only one English library in Pune, the British Library (http://library.britishcouncil.org.in/Profiles.asp?id=PN). I think it is mostly focused on core library services, but it may be a way to connect with other English-speaking families with children in the area.

I have heard about International Pre-School in my area. Its VIVERO International, I have gone through their website, they have Playgroup school, Pre-Nursery, Nursery and Kindergarten School. They provide excellent facilities like nutritious food, good teacher child ratio 1:6, clean, safe environment and baby sitting service.

Where is Blossom Blvd?

You can come to my house if you like. I am a stay home mom with a 2 1/2 yr old daughter. We just recently moved here and I don't really know anyone yet.

Ca,

Are you planning on enrolling your child in any schools (local or international) while here? I have a 20-month old and although he's too young at this point, I'm interested in knowing if you've done any active looking.

Thanks,
Farrah

Hi,

We have now finished our 6 month secondment in India and have returned to Canada. While we were there, my daughter was between 10 and 16 months. We had a bit of a role reversal in our family in that I was the one that was working and my husband stayed home with my daughter. He went with my daughter 3 times a week to Kangaroo Kids in Pune - http://www.kkel.com/ourinstitutions/kktc.htm and there was also an informal expat group that met for play dates on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Vivero. Outside of those two programs/places, we didn't research other programs.

My husband has recevied an assignment in Pune. We will be
moving with my son who will be 9 months in Sept. I would like to know of playgroups that I can take him to as well as things for me to do whilst there. Are there any pools in Pune? ANY advice is welcome.

Hi,

your message has been posted 3 years ago and I am not sure that you are still living in Pune, but I am now in the same case than you were in 2009 (my German-French son is one year old) and I would like to know if you have any advice to give to me, so that I may find other kids he could play with here in Pune.
Thanks

We are no longer in Pune but when we were there my husband took my daughter to kangaroo kids in koregaon park. We had a role reversal situation happening where I was in Pune working and he was the stay at home dad.

Kangaroo kids had a toddlers club program where moms bring their babies that are 10 months to 18 months. The program ran 3 days a week for an hour and 15 minutes. We would recommend the program.

There were also some informal groups that he met up with that we discovered through networking and talking to other expats.

Good luck!
