Hi, I am considering an expat assignment that will take me to India for the next few years. Any advice for an American that will help me adjust?

HT, Read about India and the area you will be relocating to. Prepare for culture shock. Learn some Hindi. Remember to wash your hands, DUH. India is wonderful and the people are some of the friendliest and helpful that I have ever met.

HT, If you want to take a large amount of your belongings....clothes, kitchen toys, books, I suggest shipping by ocean. Living in TX you shld have many options so shop around. Usually your cargo will take a month + to get to India. G
