Accompanying Husband to Bangalore for work?

My husband has just found out that he will be relocated to Bangalore for a few months for work. His company will be arranging for his Visa but I plan on taking a leave so I can accompany him. We aren't very well-traveled and have never lived outside the US, where do I find information on accompanying my spouse? I don't know where to begin!

Hi
Could your husbands company not organise a spouse visa for you?
If not why dont you just apply for a tourist visa as he is only going to be there for a few months and you can get a three month visa or a six month one if you decide to stay longer!
You will enjoy your stay, what type of accommodation is the company organising,as you can rent a flat very easy best to tell your husband to tell them you will be coming also and they will help out no problem!
