Once in Bali you'll see many storefronts offering visa service. You can get an "extended" visa and pay a fixed amount of $$ to the person there and they will do the process of stamping the visa for you. Your first time you'll most likely have to fly to Singapore (the closest flight that's outside of Indo), you'll have someone take your passport, get it stamped and have it returned to you. Also, ask other expats in Ubud or wherever you are, how they do it - they can probably recommend their visa person. I've been out of Bali a few years now - it was always a hassle. If you're 55+ there is also a retirement visa available. Make sure when you fly out that you have rp100,000 for the exit fee at the airport.
