" I am relocating for the Intel project in very short order - 2 weeks time. I am looking for information. I have a boy (8) and a girl(9) and I need information on the schools and I need to hire local help for after school tending of the kids. I will have a house( I dont know where- but somewhere fairly closer to Intel facility - I presume) and a car - but am trying to get as much info as possible on area and what to expect for myself and kids. I appreciate any information about the area, way of life, schools, and clubs & activities for the kids. What items should I bring from the states and what should I buy over there? I am looking for all those ""gosh - I wish I knew that before I came"" type stuff. Thanks again, Norrine Gonzalez "

" I assume by now you are already in Leixlip. My husband and I are relocating to Ireland from California in a month or two. My husband works for HP so we are looking at the Leixlip area. Any pointers or tips? Specifically what is Leixlip like, where would you recommend buying a house, did you look at Cellbridge, what do you wish you had brought from the states, what do you wish you had left behind, etc. Any advice you can pass on would be great! Thanks, Tanya "

" Joseph Greenleaf - 12:38pm Oct 2, 2000 Best book on moving to Ireland I simply wanted to let everyone know about an absolutely terrific book I bought in Ireland, called ""Buying a Home in Ireland."" While it does cover the topic amazingly well, it also has in-depth information about so many different facets about Ireland that it is a must-buy. It discusses insurance, schools, utilities, driving, health, home security... It cost me IR12.90, and it is printed in the UK (where it is 9.95 stg.). I don''t know if it is available in the US. It is by Joe Laredo, ISBN 1-901130-10-X. Their website is http://www.computronx.com/survivalbooks The book is copyright 1999, and I find it to be very up-to-date. joe@jgreenleaf.ie "

" Hi Tanya, I''m currently a foreign service employee working at HP in Leixlip. Do you still need this information (or is it too late?). I''ve been here since January and there are a lot of things I wish I had known before or shortly after I came. Please let me know where you are in the relocation process and I''ll try to help. Jean "
