" I have been here since November as well. My wife and I live in Carlow Town (~ 1.25hrs SW of Dublin). I think we know exactly what you are going through! Getting things arranged (i.e. phone, electricity, visas, etc.) "

Hi Bill and Tammy Just picked up your notes about not finding other Americans in Ireland. I hope you have both now had some responses. I''m originally from Canada but have lived in the UK for 10 years. I now live in Northern Ireland and am meeting more and more North Americans here. Please email me if you want to make contact. " Tammy (Bill/Nancy): we moved to Ireland Jan. 2000 and I still don''t know any Americans here. I speak to them regularly thru work, but that''s over the phone. It''s amazing what speaking to a fellow countryman in person can do for your state of mind!! I''ve actually accosted a few tourists in a fit of desperation ;-) I live in Ballybunion, Co. Kerry. Email if you feel like chatting. Kirsti :-) (kirstice@hotmail.com) "

" forgot to add that there is an International Womens Organization here in Ireland (in Shannon Region and in Dublin) which has lots of Americans (and many others) as members..they do lots of activities including lunch, book club and moms groups. Let me know if anyone is interested and I can get the contact info. "

Does anyone out there have the contact info on either the American expat group or the International Women''s Group in Dublin? I''ll be moving there soon with my husband and pre-teen and I''m aware of the value of these types of groups through prior experiences with similar organizations in other countries. It''s good to know they exist in Dublin. Whom might I contact?

Greetings: Have made several visits to Western Ireland. Would consider a second home in the area. Currently reside in Western NYS. Consider a reply so that I may provide details by email. SARTRE
