I am hoping to move myself and three daughters, ages 19, 13, and 11 to Ireland. My oldenst is in college and will need to transfer. Studying to be a vet. Any suggestions on a good location to start our transition? I like city life, but I like the quiet life too. Looking for something in the middle. I will also need to find work. I currently hold a license in international trade.
Hope to be moving within a year.

Suggest you review residency requirements at http://www.inis.gov.ie
and get a job offer before you attempt to move. Good luck; it's a great place for kids.

Greetings,
You have a number of options on the relocation plans to Ireland.City properties ,particularly in /around Dublin & Cork is quite expensive - very expensive both to rent & to purchase. For Dublin ,you could look at adjoining counties such as Wicklow ,Kildare ,Meath ect but commuting daily can be tiresome & time consuming.
Alternatively, you could examine the possibility of relocating to the Irish countryside or perhaps the best of both worlds - an edge of village location in the country that is relatively near some good beaches ,for leisure purposes & ideally a large town that has good rail/bus transport linkages/hospitals/major shopping facilities etc etc.
You could Google properties for sale in Dublin/other cities to get an idea of current purchase prices or look at sites where property owners are selling/advertising directly - one good site is :
Preloved UK/Property/Ireland.
Good luck
