I was wondering if anyone can point me in the right direction. My husband and I would like to move to ireland with our young daughter. We're getting or initial paperwork in order, birth certificates, updating passports, etc. I'll be looking for a technical career (i work in cybersecurity), and we're wanting to move permanently, most likely. Where do we start? I'm wanting to finish some certifications, before we go, and we'd be bringing our two dogs, most likely near Dublin or cork.

Welcome to the forum... check the Irish immigration authority (and nowhere else) for current info on exactly what passport stamp you hope to qualify for. Try and arrange for work before you leave; the Irish govt. doesn't look kindly upon people just showing up and looking for a job. Your tech skills should be highly desirable, though. Familiarise yourself with Irish life -- read the newspapers online and get a feeling for what life beyond the travel brochures suggest. If you haven't visited here before, perhaps arrange a driving vacation to take in not only the major cities, but suburban communities surrounding the urban centres. It's expensive to buy or rent in Dublin central, so check out what life is like outside with the idea you'll be driving into the city.. Explore transport options (bus/rail) and get a feel for things like the cost of owning a car, food, insurance et al.
Knowing this will allow you to decide if what you're offered in compensation will provide you with the quality of life you need. The best way to do all this is with 'boots on the ground' rather than second hand by listening to a bunch of yahoos like us online. Even if you decide Ireland isn't for you, you'll have had a great experience in a terrific country.
