Does anyone know the current state of affairs at INIS? Are Stamp 0 applications being strictly handled under the March 2015 rules or is there flexibility or deference to the proposed rules?
Also, does anyone know the types of income INIS will approve or reject? If I rent out my US home when/if I move to Ireland, will INIS give me credit for this income?
Lastly, does anyone know why this public review is taking so long and if there will be further steps before any new rules are approved?

Hi Kevin ... don't know the answers to most of your questions, except the last one .... it's Ireland ;)

Hey, Kevin -- how about we "bell the cat" and elect you to send INIS these very relevant questions! :-))) Seriously, if we were to ask, we'd no doubt get the usual non-answer, that being that the rules are under review, and they will announce such information "In due course". (I've seen those three magic words so often.....)

It seems that the most successful way to get some answers is to get a TD in the Dail to ask the Minister a formal question. I suspect they are obligated to give an answer. Anyone know a TD willing to pose this question?

I also feel that I have little to no standing with the Ministry. Others posting to this board, however, may have applications currently in progress or will be renewing their Stamp 0 within the next year. Certainly they would have better grounds to pose such questions.
Also, some on this board are Irish citizens who certainly have standing to request that their TD pose questions to the Ministry on behalf of a constituent.

Re: situation with INIS & Stamp 0 questions ... ..When applying first time , last yr was very impressed & appreciative of INIS staff never failing to send quick (within 24 hrs) & helpful replies to my many emails about about the application process etc . Now about to apply for Stamp 0 renewal , noticing there is now very limited & vague info on INIS webiste and have been waiting 2 weeks for a reply to myemails, Very strange situation based on last year's very positive experience ... so curious what's up?? Effects of Brexit with influx of Stamp 0 applicants from U.K.? Possible Stamp 0 policy changes in progress ?? Woud sure be helpful to know more but think the only reliable source of that info are the employees at Unit 2 Residence Division who do not seem to be responding to email this month . ;-(
