I'm a modern day Don Quixote, 65 yrs. old, widowed & a still aspiring but undisciplined writer. Looking for tips on renting/possibly buying a simple cottage ideally near the coast where I can follow my writing muse. I'm on Social Security & Medicare.

I guess we should assume you are from the US ? Unless you are citizen of a EU/EEA country or have recent Irish ancestors, you may not be able to immigrate to Ireland. Elsewhere on this forum you will find most of the conditions you would need before allowed to move permanently. If all you have is Social Security and Medicare it is doubtful you can move there. Medicare does not cover you outside USA and in most cases, Social security payments are usually not enough to qualify for Irish financial requirements. Please spend the time to look at some of the facts listed on the right side of this page.
