" To import a car, it depends if you want to register it in Israel, or keep it as a duty free car. If you want to register it, you have to pay tax on the car. The tax is based on the value of the car in Israel. The car is also not allowed to be older than 4 years. If you want to bring it in as a duty free car, you can do so. You are allowed to keep the car in your passport for 6 monts (12 if you pay a tax deposit). After that you have to bring the car out of the country (Cyprus) and in again on e.g. your spouse passport. You also have the option of buying a duty-free car here, which is rather common. Insurance is no problem for any of the cases. Hope that this helps you a little bit. "
