Living in TA with only one car

Hi all
My husband is going to be working in Tel Aviv and Beer Sheeba. We are debating if the kids and I should tag along. The company will only provide one car that he will be using mostly during the week. The kids wold be going to the American International School. Would I be able to manage without vehicle...what is the public transport system like? Is the school close to decent housing? Thanx!

Rental cars are not that expensive. You can get one for approx 500 euro a month. You will need a car probably - with kids you always need a car?! :-)
