Hi there,
I'm getting conflicting information from people within Israel.
One person told me he buys from eBay all the time & so long as it's under $100, he gets whatever he ordered with no problems.
Another person told me they always delay the packages at the border & you are lucky if you get them & she didn't know anything about this $100 amount.
Does anyone know what the truth is?
Thanks
Michelle

A personal import up the value of US$100 is exempt from import duty. However you cannot bring more than 3 identical items in a package. It can take a few months for the parcel to arrive if it is sent by regular sea mail, It will arrive within a few days (usually7) with DHL or similar. If your parcel is opened at customs and is over the $100 mark, your will have to pay import duty, VAT and a handling fee to the freight forwarders. If you want to avoid the handling fee, you will have to release it from customs yourself.

The big question is if you will receive the package at all (I had 3 packages lost so far) ! if it is of value to you, suggest to send it registered, or check with a friend if he is coming to Israel and take it with him.

Again, my apologies.
How do you release it from customs yourself?
I'll be moving to the North.
And it's the invoice that determines the value?
What is there is no value as I'm being reimbursed for something? That happens to me occasionally.
I have to assume the value is in USD b/c no one charges NIS except Israel.
Thanks
Michal
