I am interested in becoming an Israeli citizen under the Law of Return, but am having a heck of a time finding out how I begin the process.
My grandfather and his whole family is 100% jewish.

Hi

I'm actually in the process of doing the same thing.

If you need any help, please PM me & we can talk.

Your first step would be to go to NBN & fill out the application.

It costs $50

BUT before that, have you asked questions about this, what's required, do you speak Hebrew, etc.?

You will also need to make the actual move within 1 year from the date of the approval & have your interview within 6 months of filling out the application.

I'll have to double check on that info for you b/c I was given confusing information 3 times before I finally understood.

HTH

Hi

You do not state where you are from. NBN or Nefesh B Nefesh are the only contacts you can make in order to begin the process.

You can approach the Jewish Agency or one of the Zionist/Israel Federations in your area. You can also contact the Israeli embassy nearest you and they will give point you in the right direction.

If you read Wikipeadias article on the Law of Return, you will gain further insight.

I'm a Jewish Israeli citizen who's moving back permanently in the spring of 2014. Visit http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Law_of_Return for a good explanation of the law. Since Nefesh B'Nefesh only helps Jewish people make aliyah as was explained to me, you'd want to contact your nearest Israeli embassy/consulate for more specific information about your situation since, from what you've said, you're not actually Jewish yourself according to Israeli law.
