bringing electronics when living in italy

Saw on the moving company's paperwork about only electronics with CE on them could be imported from US to Italy. What about kids hand-held game or portable DVD players that don't have it on there? My computer has a CE on the back....
What have your experiences been when you moved there?

I'm not sure as I am not from the US, but my limited understanding was that as the voltage is different here in Italy to the US then it is not wise to use electronics here unless you get a little device that adjusts the voltage, can't remember what they are called though.
Hope this helps, a good relocation company should advise you though.
