gifts from Italy for Christmas

We're traveling from Torino, where we live, to the US for Christmas. What would be budget friendly gifts to bring to our families and many nieces/nephews? Our Torinese bucerin /special hazelnut chocolates are kinda pricey. There's always wines from the Piemonte region. What else?

Hi 2Torino

I'm not American I'm a Scottish expat and have been living on a small vineyard about 45 m inutes from Turin on border with Asti and love it here
There are so many wonderful things Italian that you could take as gifts but a lot of the best come in glass bottles and jars so have to go in the hold luggage
Grappa is an acquired taste,to me it's like paint stripper but there are other delicious liqueurs, limoncello for one which most people like The soft nougat and the Amaretti biscuits go down well I have found, the soft ones particularly(morbide)
The wonderful hot chocolate powder, the dark bitter blend is great at Christmas, stuffed bell peppers, marmalata of all kind which is made from various fruits and mustard seeds, goes great with cheese Don't forget the local wines of course, freisa and barbera vivace are both very reasonable and delicious
These are a few of my favourite things(and then you won't feel so bad)
We are going back to Scotland for a few days to bring back spiced bun, mincemeat pies, Christmas cake and Drambuie(whisky liqueur) to enjoy at Christmas. The Italians love these things
I wish you happy shopping

Dorothy
