Without knowing your actual situation, it is quite difficult to give advice.
If someone asks you for directions to drive to the edge of a cliff, do you just give them the directions? Or do you ask them why they want to drive there?
If you are Italian born and returning to Italy to retire, that is one thing. If you have never lived in Italy before and have no actual ties to Italy that is an entirely different thing.
For someone in the second category who is asking about buying, my advice will always be NOT to buy until you have lived in a country for a least 1 and preferably 2 years.
Providing some background info before asking a specific question lets people know if the advice they are giving you is appropriate or not. You might be surprised by how many people talk about retiring somewhere when they can't even get the legal right to live in the country to start with for example.
