Can anyone recommend a good financial advisor here in the USA before we make our move to Italy? Someone who understands USA tax implications as well as Italian. Thanks!

I spoke with Pat Smith at American Tax help, but don't think she knows the Italian side. A little pricey, but knowledgable. Does a free phone consult. Might be worth a chat.

Withersworldwide.com ( Withers Bergman) Office in NYC 430 park avenue, office in Hartford Ct , plus an office in Milan who have been answering all my questions. They have it all. Not cheap but the best. Just ask the big questions.
I will share what I find out. Good luck!!
I have been dealing with the italians mostly so far, will get to the American side of things shortly. One shock at a time:)

Thanks, we are trying to figure out if just easier selling our two houses in US as it seems the Italian taxes will kill us if we use them as rentals...

The lovely wealth tax.... I will look into trusts, but I don't know if that will help with rental income. Worst case scenario I would build that tax into the rent. Don't want to sell my US house.
