Hi there,
As I was looking around for more info on gyms in IC.
I found this wonderful website and thought I would share.
I'm not sure how accurate all the info is.
So if someone knows better, that would be wonderful!

Thanx!

Hello there, sorry for the delay in responding to your emails but I am back in Australia at present and not spending quite as much time on the computer. I did start going to Calao and as Tamara mentioned, it is a place where you sort of go to be seen if you know what I mean. Mind, I go to work out and sweat in my old t-shirt and sweat pants - no make-up on this puppy!!! The machines are great, facilities are good, just a long way unless you live in the area. The other gym I found is in Cocody area. It is next to the Hotel Ivoir. They have really good equipment too and aerobics and are about the same price. The only difference is it isn't set out quite as good. Definitely not a place to go to be seen, people are just there working out which is good. Personally I like the set out at Calao and I just do my thing there. It's actually quite fun watching some of the women in their expensive matching gear with full faces on make-up trying to impress........There is also a place called the Athletic club. They have a pool, tennis and a large area where they do pilates, yoga, aerobics, judo, etc etc but I dont think they have machines. I will be back in Abidjan in November. Hope to catch up with you at a gym soon ......take care

Thanx so much for getting back to me :)
Looks like we are living very close to Calao so that will be the gym that I shall be bouncing my ass around at :D - so I shall def see you there.
Absolute ditto on the fact that I am there to work out and I wear whatever is comfy. It is similar but not quite the same (they don't wear makeup) here in Ghana, the leb ladies are not exactly the friendliest I have come across lol- I smile and say hello to them every time I go to the gym and I have yet to crack a smile back from them - oh well :)

I shall email you guys closer to the time and get into contact.
Take Care!

Ivotel also offers quite a nice gym. Not so many machines, but a variety of daily courses (yoga, salsa, pilates, taebo, aquagym, stretching etc), they also have a hamam there. About 25000 a month
