Hello all,
I am preparing to move to Abidjan early next year and I am about to purchase a used to car that I will take with me there. Should I get a diesel or gasoline? Or does it even matter in Abidjan. Are availability and quality of fuel a concern there? Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi I don't think it really matter. Service stations (gas stations) are all over the place. I have a diesel and don't really look for petrol. Yes the diesel here are of poor quality, but nothing we can do about it. Keep in mind that the roads are also not the best. A SUV would be a better option than a sedan, if you can. Hope this helps.

This is very helpful! Many thanks. I was planning to buy a SUV indeed. Looks like I will go for gasoline then. One more question if you don't mind: do they sell different types of gasoline such as premium, standard, etc...? Thanks!

Hi Story I have no idea on gasoline. We only use diesel so I don't even look at gasoline.
Good luck. Randel
