Living in Montego Bay

I recently signed on to this as I was looking for an "international" link in Montego Bay. I just moved here 3 weeks ago as my husband was transferred. Am slowly settling in but as I don´t have a job, nor children, am finding it hard to pass the days! If anybody knows of any organizations here or if there are opportunities to volunteer-I would be keen to hear about them. I as well miss my friends and having a girlfriend to talk to you.

Any news/response is welcome.

Hi there,

I too moved to Mobay over the summer. I am from Jamaica but not Montego Bay. I lived in the US since I was little. I'm re-discovering Jamaica and getting use to how thing work here. You can e-mail me at blessedluv30@yahoo.com and we can get together and I'll show you what little places I know. My name is Carol.

Hi, i am an thirty year old american woman who married to a jamaican man living in Massachusetts. My husband now wants to move back to Montego Bay. I'm not against the move but am nervous about adjusting to life there. I luv jamaica, but being on vacation and being there full time are 2 different things. I am worried about work as i am now a hair stylist, and wonder if i could find good paying work there doing hair, either in a shop or in a hotel or spa. Please send me whatever info or insight you have on the situation. Thanks

Hi Kivinna,
My name is Caz, I too will be living in Mo Bay shortly with my 2 girls & my husband. I want to form a Network Club with other returning residents who are creative & are willing to exchange ideas to create a business of some sortto enable us all to cope with the change for us & our families.

I do hope you have settled in Jamaica & made new & sincere friends.

I am an Aerican who is new to Montego Bay. I have lived in rural St. Catherine where I was a guidance counsellor. I am now a new stay at home mom and have moved with my husband to Montego Bay. I feel overwhelmed and don't know anyone. Have you formed a network I could get some info from.

Jamie
