Hi Amer.gal. I'm looking at a business opportunity in Mandeville. I plan to travel there in the next couple weeks. I would like to have a chat with an American who lives there. I am 57, earlier retired, and looking to get out of the north east this winter. Possibly start a buisness and buy real estate. I'd welcome a response at getalift1@gmail.com

Hi LovinJamaica
I haven't made the big move as yet, but very interested in the idea. I would love to hear about your experience so far. I last went to JA at Christmas but didn't meet much like-minded expats. So which part of JA do you live and are you working?

Hello,
I saw your note, and you may look up Jamaicans.com for a guy by the name of John Casey. He is retired American fellow with his wife and they live in Montego Bay. He writes for thea monthly column and have several important things to share for people thinking of retiring to Jamaica.
Also visit my blog at http://transitionsunshine.info/ I write about things that I believe people should consider when moving to Jamaica. I also have a section called Expat stories, where I ask Expats to share on 5 positive and 5 negative things about life in Jamaica.
John Casey has a friend who lives in Mandiville who run there own businesses. Mandiville is a quiet more laid back part of Jamaica and several returning residents from England settle there.
The key is to make several trips and do your research wisely, before a final move.
Good luck Cheers Trini
