Go to MONTEGO BAY CONDOS. They are VERY safe and right across the street from DOCTORS COVE beach.
Go to FLIPKEY or HOME AWAY or I can give you the link to a Jamaican in NY who rents a one bedroom apartment long or short term. I rented from him and I had a great time and I got to people watch from my balcony.
It is near to the street as it is on the 4th floor, so it may be a little noisy. The condo building has an elevator a great pool.The pool overlooks the sea and there is a restaurant on site.
There is a convenience store that changes money and their prices are very fair. You can walk to many restaurants and meet others like you who may have a car. Then you can go off and see other places like DUNNS RIVER FALLS or a trip to NEGRIL for a day.
