Hi Marley,
Apply for Jamaican citizenship of descent at the Jamaican consulate in UK. I live in Toronto, Canada and the JA Consulate told me it can take 3-4 months eventhough the application says 6-12months. I want to go to JA for 1yr and stay in St.Ann's.

Hya tropicallady thanks for this information so quickly gives me plenty of time, but i will get it done early and give myself that one year window i don't want it to delay my travel plans. When are you planning on spending a year in JA .

Like others have said it takes at most 12 months and you only have 14 months before you leave. SO start the process no and you will be fine.

Hi tropicallady, I am a born Canadian with Jamaican parents (dad deceased) may I still apply for JA Citizenship with 1 parent alive? If so, where would I go in Toronto to get this done?
Cheers
