Hello everyone. I am desperately after some help/advice. My wife, four children and I are planning to move to Jamaica. My wife is of jamaican parents and I'm eligible for a passport due to marriage an the kids are dependants so that side of thing is not a problem.
The questions I have are regarding with starting a business there. I am a adventurous training instructor (mountain biking, kitesurfing that kind of thing) and would like to open my business out there but I don't know if it would be possible. Does anyone know what sort of permits I would require and how I go about getting them. Also what taxes/national insurance etc would I have to pay.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Regards
Stew.

Hello,
I think it's a lot easier for someone who is a resident to open a business since you won't need to get a business or work permit visa, if you can get residency through your wife.
Here are some links that might help you, Good luck!

You WILL need to properly register your business and sign up for all the various taxing and licensing entities. As with any business, who is your target market, and will you find them where you are going to make your home? Will you also be able to employ Jamaicans in your business?
