Planning on moving from houston to Jamaica mid 2014 I already have housing just in search of transportation and and work. I'm unfamiliar with jamaica's CXC system and how it compares to americas diploma credit hr system and what exactly I'm qualified for because all of the jobs I'm finding on line outside of a few at the embassy you have to be a jamaican citizen to be eligible for. Does any one hVe any leads or info that would be helpful for some one like me ?

CXC which stands for Caribbean Examination Council is an examination (somewhat like a state exam)that is recognized in the Caribbean as the name suggest. It doesn't have any use in the USA nor England. If you are in England the GCE which stands for General Certificate of Education, is the better of the 2 options. Still neither of them are recognized in the USA. At some schools in Jamaica you can take the SAT which of course is a USA based exam. All these exams have to be paid in full prior to sitting them. The CXC and GCE has an entrance fee in addition to the exam fee. Students have to perform well in school and then be recommended by their teacher/s to sit these exams. The SAT doesn't need a requirement from a teacher. Regarding work. you have to provide a little more information as to the parish you will be in and what fields interest you. Hope this helps.
