Hello Everyone!
I have already heard about the poor reputation the island poor customer service for the internet so thought that I would try to plan in advice how to get access to it before I move into my property. I tried Flow hoping they would be able to assist but they were a complete waste of time! Could anyone recommend any companies that offer packages - cable TV channels, mobile and broadband. If not the package, broadband internet at the very least?
Your advice will be very much appreciated.
Thanks!

Ebonymermaid, again bad information! Internet here is as stable as it is in the states. (I use it 24/7/365 for work) FLOW customer service, being Jamaican, is far better than I ever had with Comcast or AT&T!
Unless you are here, or someone goes for you FLOW can't step you up. They need your TRN & ID along with a deposit. Installation is almost immediate (depending on where you live.)
Depending on where you're going to be you may be able to get Digicel Fiber but that is mostly in Kingston. There are regional companies but not as good as FLOW.
If you solely want internet you can get 4G service from FLOW, Digicel or Dekal Wireless-Super WiFi.
Remember... this is Jamaica. Slow down, take a breath and relax. Isn't that why you're moving here?

Thank you for all the great advice as this will for sure be helpful. I am not on the island yet but planning to move in December in an isolated part of Falmouth. With the fact that most amenities are a car ride away and will need access to internet all the time (for leisure and work-related reasons) I have been trying to sort it out with Flow. This company was recommended to me by a friend but when trying to arrange for them to visit the premises the communication from them was quite unsatisfactory. I have already a TRN and ID card. The problem lies with the fact that they did not bother to contact me back after going to the property to survey it. Turns out they cannot install but I would have appreciated it if they told me instead of leaving me waiting. Anyway, not to worry. I understand the pace of life is much slower there and looking forward to that part.
But, I am already preparing myself for the differences btw customer service in Jamaica and the UK because there is a difference (not saying this from bad information but from my own personal experience) but looking forward as well to having the great sunshine, great food, great music, great physical geography and great people around me.
I will indeed look into the other companies you mentioned.
Thanks again and Take care ;)!
