With a tourist Visa you'll only get 90 days per visit and without a TRN it may be difficult to rent housing unless you find someone who doesn't care. You didn't mention where in Jamaica you want to stay or if you plan to work or what.

Hello,

So you want to stay in Jamaica for less than a year. About your immigration status for length of stay, it depends on which passport you have. Given that you seem to have 6 months per entry, you can ask for an extension prior prior to your expiration date.

Finding a furnished apartment to rent may take some time. If you expect 1st world standards, you might have to look at many apartments before you find one that suits you that is within your budget. Most people look in the local Jamaican newspapers classifieds section. Some are available online but it doesn't have pictures or give detailed information.

The TRN that the other poster spoke of is used like a national ID number in Jamaica to for example clearing items at Jamaica customs if you have stuff shipped from home. Yes, foreigners can obtain a TRN for free at the Jamaica tax office.

Good luck.
