moving with my business

Hi

I am new to this form so I apologize if what I ask has been answered. I have been traveling to Jamaica since 2001. I have grown to enjoy the people and people make the place, over the years.

I am aware of issues from health care to pot holes. I no longer stay in hotels when I go so although not an expert my eyes are open to day to day living on the island.

I am self-employed and operate my business out of my home. It is mostly consulting and commission sales. Although I would lose some business by relocating to Jamaica I also stand to be better able to service some areas of the Caribbean I am targeting for growth as Kingston has go flight connections to much of the English speaking Caribbean.

I am looking for a good resource that will clearly allow me to understand the taxation of what I think would be a "sole trader". I am not looking to evade taxation but to know what my after tax income situation might look like if I am operating a home based business there.

It cost money to live in Jamaica the same as everywhere else.

I thank anyone that may have a suggestion.
