" Depends where your final destination is. I have flown into Kansai International (Osaka) several times. A train runs from the airport directly to Koyoto. Once at the airport you have a choice of buses, connecting flights and a local train to a nearby major rail station in Osaka. Trains are cheapest and most reliable. Be aware that there are two airports in Osaka. The one you want is Kansai International. Michael "

" Eunie, buy a Japan Rail Pass BEFORE you leave for Japan. Go to http://www.jreast.co.jp/jrp/index.html for all of the details about the pass. It will be much more economical for getting around Japan than buying individual tickets, especially if you want to use the shinkansen. "
