I'm from america but currently living and teaching in beijing china. I have over two years experience teaching english here, but no college degree. Is it at all possible to find a teaching job without a degree? I attended tufts university in boston for two years part-time while at the same time graduating from the school of the museum of fine arts. but understandably its just a diploma of completion from a studio art school.

I'm sure it is since you have experience; however, Japan does like to require a degree but I would check it out. Most of the jobs I've applied for require that you're in japan with working visa papers. By the way, how did you find a job teaching in China. I have been trying to find jobs teaching overseas but no luck. I've worked with recruiting agency and they have done nothing for me.

Usually you need a degree (BA) to teach English and get a working visa. I've lived here for the past 15 years and the only people I've met working as teachers without a degree, have been people on a working holiday visa or those here on a spousal visa. Presuming you are not married to a Japanese citizen, then a working holiday visa might be the best route for you.
