I am considering an assignment to Amman. Having traveled there numerous times, I am familiar with its culture and surroundings. However, I am iinterested in what its like to live there. I'd like to know what to watch out for, what to negotiate for from "package" standpoint, what it is like for an American woman to work with the locals as a Sr. Mgr, housing costs, etc. Thanks for any and all advice.

I am doing the same as you, so cant give you advice as to the country, but the package i got was tax free (UK and Jordanian)slightly higher gross than my UK , health care, 4 bed villa, 2 cars&costs, flights, Profit share and relocation, and a job that i would not have been considered for in the UK.

I believe you will enjoy living in Jordan. It has something for everyone. A woman supervising men in jordan is not easy, and will require an adjustment period on your part, but if you have the right personality, style and patience you will be ok. Always, be nice but firm and serious when you need to draw the line. If all else fails, give me a call or drop me a mail and I would happy to help!! I recently moved to Amman from Miami. Good luck...
